This month’s meeting will be conducted both in person, at the Chatham Cultural Centre, and online via Zoom.

If you would like to attend in person, please arrive at the Cultural Centre just prior to 5:30 pm.

Due to the Provincial stay-at-home order, the General Membership Meeting on January 20 at 5:30 pm will be conducted via Zoom. The Zoom link has been emailed to members. Zoom is accessible from phones or computers.

Chatham-Kent Values Library Services

Chatham-Kent is keeping many library branches closed even though Ontario has entered Phases 1 & 2, which allow libraries to provide curbside pickup, home service, limited on-site services, and online services. Many Municipalities around Ontario have opened their libraries far more broadly than CK. Let Mayor Canniff and Council know that you value library services in Chatham-Kent!

General Membership Meeting – Wednesday, March 18 – Cancelled

Out of an abundance of caution, the local is following the lead of CUPE Ontario and cancelling the March meeting.

Local 12 will do our best to help you navigate through this uncertain time. If you have questions, please reach out to your Unit Chair. General Membership Meeting – Wednesday, February 19 at 5:30 pm

Local 12 is accepting donations for Tampon Tuesday at this meeting. All donations will be brought to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.

If you cannot attend the meeting but want to participate, donations can be brought to Stefanie at the Chatham Branch of the Public Library, 120 Queen Street, Jen at Public Health, 435 Grand Ave W., or Chelsea at Clinic Services, 177 King Street E. Donations can include sanitary items, deodorant, hair brushes, shampoo, conditioner, and toiletries.

Election will be held for the executive position of Recording Secretary. Anyone wishing to be part of the Social Committee can volunteer at the meeting. The goal of the Social Committee is to plan a Christmas Party. Discussion will be held around a donation to Home James. An OMERS update will be provided.

Meeting will include a $50 draw. Winner will be selected from all local 12 members. You must be in attendance to win.

General Membership Meeting – Wednesday, January 15 at 5:30 pm

This month’s meeting will be at the new date and time: the third Wednesday of every month (except June, July and August) at 5:30 pm.

On the agenda this month is the election of a new Recording Secretary and approval of the 2020 budget. We will also be discussing putting a social committee together, and any other union business as it arises.

The CUPE Local 12 executive is looking forward to a great year!
