April 28th 2023, was our National Day of Mourning.
Marked annually in Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a work-related tragedy.
I was proud to attend this year’s event alongside with Ilija Dimeski, a staunch CUPE supporter, a longtime advocate for human rights and workplace safety. I just wanted to share some pics of the attendees on that rainy and windy event! Ilija was more than happy to hold our banner with me.
